The guide, Rita, was extremely good, informing us of what to expect and answering a variety of questions. The ride up to the summit was great, the gondola comfortable and the cable car also. Unfortunately the weather was poor but we accessed the summit via the dragon gallery; the route was tricky, cold and very misty! All we could see was a line of choughs perched on a wooden rail.
The descent by cog railway was exciting, especially as we sat right behind the driver. We were peering through the mist until very near the bottom but we could see how very steep it was and what a feat of engineering.
We transferred to the boat which was clean and comfortable and glided across Lake Lucerne, taking pictures and engaging with Rita and other passengers who were from US, India and the East. Here the views were stunning, you could get a sense of perspective, and we were very glad to have experienced it.
This was a well organised and successful trip, only marred by the wet weather, which was out of anyone's control!
