Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

The tour was fabulous! We met so many people from many, many countries and made lots of new friends. I made it to The Kitchen in Blarney Castle which is one floor below the Blarney Stone. I didn't have the guts to go one more floor but my husband did and we have a picture of him kissing the stone. There are lots of washrooms on the grounds and lots of gift shops and little places for food and drink. We both wanted more time to explore more of the grounds and the gardens.

The rest of the tour was excellent as well. Our Tour Guide, Jim, was a lovely man and very knowledgeable. It was a great day and we got visit to the mass graves of the victims of the Lusitania. It was extremely moving. We visited so many beautiful places - churches, villages - the history of it all fills you.

Make sure you wear good, comfortable shoes when you tour and carry bottled water with you. Well worth it!

Dublin Liffey River Cruise

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Lovely, slow cruise in a covered boat. Our Captain, Paul, was full of fun and very careful with us. It was a very relaxed trip and Carolyn, our Tour Guide, was a pretty and very knowledgeable Irish lass who made sure we knew what was going on at all times. Very calm and relaxed time and absolutely worth the money.

Belfast Day Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Our Bus Driver/Tour Guide, Joe, made the trip exciting with his humour and his knowledge of Belfast and surrounding area. We travelled in a 15 passenger van and enjoyed his banter.

If you get a chance to see Belfast City Hall take it! What an exquisite building. We were able to see some of the results of "The Troubles" in the height of the fences that are still everywhere. There was graffiti on the 20 ft high fences. Some in honour of fallen Northern Ireland heroes and some asking for continued peace. The Irish National Museum will leave you gob-smacked. I wanted a couple more hours to go through it in more depth.

There is a very distinct difference in the speech between Dublin and Belfast. It is much like the differences in speech between Ontario and the East Coast or mid US and Boston.

Both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are extremely welcoming and friendly.

Newgrange and Hill of Tara Day Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

I wanted to give this tour 10 stars! Michael was our Tour Guide/Bus Driver and he was amazing and knowledgeable.

I was actually looking forward to the Newgrange part of the tour most but, in fact, The Hills of Tara was the part of the tour that touched my soul the most. I was standing where the original Kings of Ireland were in the early 400's. the history of this beautiful island is what touches you the most.

Wonderful adventure all around.
