Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada or Niagara Falls, Canada
Terrific ride! It was only 25% as exciting as the open boat ride, but much drier. This ride allows you to take photos, which cannot be taken on the open boat ride. This ride is terrific for those with small children, those wanting to stay dry, and those desiring to take photos. You do ride the rapids, but in the dryness of the closed boat.
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada or Lewiston, New York
This was one of the best adventure rides we've ever experienced. I used to fly fighter aircraft and this ride up the rapids was almost as exciting as most training missions I ever flew. You get VERY wet, but are safe the entire time. You are provided with a poncho and footwear, but you still get very soaked. We learned from others who had experienced the ride to bring a set of dry clothes. This information was not provided by anyone involved with the ride prior to the safety briefing. You are only allowed to carry sunglasses, a hat (not needed), and a waterproof camera. Lockers are provided for valuables, as well as a changing area after.
A great ride that takes you right up to the falls. Ponchos are provided for the trip, which you can keep. You can effectively take great photos, but be ready to stow the camera quickly, if it is not waterproof. This is a must ride for anyone visiting Niagara Falls. The other must ride is the open jet boat ride (domed boat ride, if you want photos). The jet boat rides do not view the Falls.
