Seoul, South Korea
The van picked us up and 9 am and returned us to our hotel at 4:15. This is not a 8 1/2 hr tour as stated. More time was spent at the ginseng factory then the Temple or Changdeokgung Palace. About 20-25 min was spent at the Buddhist Temple. Only 30 min was allowed at the Changdeokgung Palace. However, we were given 1 hr to shop at the street market at Insadong which we rather would be touring the historical sights of Seoul.
We made stops at the ginseng factory and amethyst store which were high pressure sales Waste of time driving there, off and on the van. We felt rushed at the Folk Museum and the Palaces. We pretty much felt rushed the whole tour. Our guide did not point things out during the drive such as buildings, ares, parks or tell any history of Seoul.
At one point our tour guide said oh this tour and put her hand to her head and lowered her head, clearly annoyed. I was the lead on the booking and she never once called me or acknowledged me. She would only referred to my companion.
I would not recommend booking this tour unless you want to be rushed, get zero info from the guide, and spend most of your time at Insadong Street Market that you can do on your own. We were not allowed to even stop at one street booth at the second Street market but only to follow our guide at a very high speed from one end to the other. Why that was even included did not make since. The best thing about the tour was lunch. Great restaurant and food.
A must!!! We did the 3:00 and the 7:00. On the web it was not explained very well. The 3:00-7:00 historical tour with a stop in the park for ice cream. We were back at the bike shop for the next tour which is more Notre Dame and river cruise. We did not have time for dinner, as the tour stopped for ice cream we grabbed a crepe off the street instead of ice cream a second time. Be sure and bring water and something for dinner if you do both tours. The tour guide was from the states and well informed. I cant wait to sign up for this same tour in Rome. Very safe, organized and informative.
Great way to see normandy battlefields, but 8 hrs is a little too long for my taste. If to do again I would do the 1/2 day. The tour guide was well informed and fun to travel around with. I would do Omaha beach skip Utah beach.
