Our tour guide Stefano did a terrific job of bringing the tour group together (of course the 3 bottles of wine at lunch helped) and explaining the history of Sienna, San Gimignano, and Pisa. He also provided a running history of the sites along the way during the bus ride and kept us all entertained. He's clearly a guy that enjoys his job.
As for the towns themselves, Sienna and Pisa were beautiful, while my wife and I felt that San Gimignano was a bit too touristy and didn't have the history and beauty of the others.
Great tour. Highly recommended.
Both the morning and afternoon tours were top notch; led by two ladies (sorry ladies I don't remember your names) who clearly love their city and their jobs. My wife and I consider these tours as the highlights of our time in Rome. These were the first things we did in Rome, so they gave us a good foundation for our later wanderings around the city.
We thought that a total of 6 hours of walking would be too much, but really the time passed before we knew it.
Hint: If you are taking these tours in the heat of summer bring a toteable water bottle. You can refill it at a number of squares that you will visit during the hottest times of the day.
