The tour guide, Louis was quite knowledgeable and very entertaining with the information he had on James Bond and his movies. The issue we had with the tour was that you literally covered a large territory walking with no resting other than the few minutes you are at the location he talks about. We would walk 15 minutes to a movie location. Louis would talk about it 2-3 minutes and we would walk another 20 minutes to the next location. The weather was quite warm and the movie sets or locations of the specific buildings were quite far apart. This is a very physical tour. Definitely not for persons with difficulty walking for long periods of time.
I would recommend making the tour shorter or add more sights that are closer together. We dropped off at the end as I was overheated.
This is a tour where you are on the transportation--bus or ferry--more than you are at the sites. The windmills were the most interesting part of the tour. Be sure and go inside the windmills. It was fascinating!
Outstanding! Sean/Shawn, the tour guide was personable and knowledgeable. It was a 2-1/2 hour walking tour but we took breaks when we taste the foods so we were not walking constantly. We tasted favorite foods of the Dutch, visited cheese shops (Reypenaer artisan cheeses were delicious) and we visited specialty markets (Le Place) and regular supermarkets and Sean explained how the Dutch eat, what they like and why. Shawn also made recommendations for lunches and dinners. He shared a wonderful coffee shop and cookie store with us. All of his recommendations were great. This is a must do if you are in Amsterdam and interested in food!!!!
