London, United Kingdom
We loved the Eye and the Skip the Line ticket was well worth it. We arrived first thing in the morning, before the Eye opened, and the regular line was already about 45 minutes long. We picked up our tickets and went through the express line in 10 minutes. That's a valuable difference when you're on vacation and have so much you want to see and do. The views from the Eye are unlike anything else in London; up and down the Thames and 360 degrees. We did it our first morning in the U.K. and it gave us a great perspective on the city and many of the other sights (sites) we wanted to see.
Our guide, Ellen, was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The town of Versailles itself was worth the visit, with its charming indoor/outdoor market and avenue shops. We had a breakfast crepe there, went wine tasting and picked up our lunches (and a bottle of wine!) Then we entered the palace grounds, had lunch by the "pond" and toured the incomparable gardens. Our skip the line privileges let us bypass the considerable wait and the palace interior, although very crowded, was amazing. Ellen was well versed in the fascinating history of Louis XIV, XV, and XVI, and seeing the display of art and wealth in and around the palace brought the French revolution into fresh perspective. A fantastic experience..
It's hard to say enough good things about the Skip the Line advantage. Plus, our guide, Anja, was really pleasant and upbeat, and very knowledgeable about the tower and its history, and the relevant history of France and its rulers. The tower views are incomparable, and combined with Anja's narrative this was a "can't miss" experience. If you don't "skip the line" at the tower, count on a likely wait of more than an hour. Although the tour doesn't give you access to the very top of the tower, the views from the mid-level are still spectacular and you can wait for the elevators from the mid to the top, for no charge, if you feel the need. You will thank yourself if you take this tour!
What a perfect way to start our visit to Barcelona! Our guide, Feliciano, was extremely friendly and provided such a wealth of information about Spanish history, Catalunya, Barcelona and its sights, including Sagrada Familia, we quickly fell in love with the city. The skip the line privilege at Sagrada Familia probably saved us a wait of 45 min. to an hour, and was well worth it, but the rest of the tour--Montjuic, the Gothic Quarter and Born District, was just SO cool. The three of us can't wait to go back to Spain.
