We really enjoyed our day with Chris. He provided additional entertainment in the form of tai chi lessons and played the flute during our lazy cruise down the water ways. I enjoyed learning about how the silk worms are farmed and produce silk, but I didnt really find anything I wanted to buy in the shop. The drive to Suzhou was well worth it as we were given a good view of Shanghai and the surrounding countryside. Zhouzhuang was really beautiful and I would recommend to people staying in Shanghai for a few dayswho have the time . Not quite Venice but the Chinese take on it. The only negative I would have was that the meal could have been in a more traditional Chinese setting. The food was rather bland and I suspect made for Western travellers.
