We have met Shannon, our wonderful guide, at 7:55 AM, and by 8:10 (as promised) - we started towards the Vatican, in a group of 10. The entry was fast and in no time we were past security and inside the Vatican.
Shannon walked us through the corridors and halls, and gave as the "grand tour".
The tour was both informative and easy-going, and we enjoyed it immensely.
After the tour, as we stepped out side, we were shocked to see the ever so long lines of people waiting to go in. No doubt, this skip-the-line early morning tour was one of the best decisions we have made.
I highly recommend this 3-hours tour.
We have met our great guide, Peter, early in the morning, and by 7:30 we were en-route, towards Tuscany.
Throughout the day, Peter told us stories about the history of the places we passed, spiced with jokes and local humor.
We drove to an old town (which name I can't pronounce :-) ) were we stepped off the bus and took a walking tour with a very knowledgeable local guide by the name of Serena, who showed us around the alleys and piazzas of this lovely town.
We later drove to an old Abby to listen to priests pray. Than we visited a local wine cellar where we had wine tasting and lunch, which was very nice.
All in all, this was a great day, which gave us a "taste" of Italy.
I highly recommend this tour, especially for those who have never been to Italy before (like us).
