Cinque Terre Hiking Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Breath taking view of the Mediterranean. As our tour guide described it, this is the Italy's version of the French Riviera. The tour agency, Walkabout, couldn't do a better job than what we've experienced. You get to do a little bit of everything (hiking, train ride, boat ride, etc) given the limited amount of time we were there. Although the hike was quite intense, the tour gives you plenty of time to hike while sightseeing; if you can't hike, there's the bus option too. The lunch that came with the tour was delicious; I literally cleaned out the plate! I love this place so much that I wish I can stay there a little longer, at least for dinner...

Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

If you are a wine lover, you have to join this tour. This tour takes you through Siena and San Gimignano, or the Chianit wine region. The tour starts off at Siena, a beautiful Medieval town that is fill with culture and tradition. Our tour guide, Beatrice, gave us a nice little history and background between the Siena and Florence; they have a long history of rivalry and hate each other to death, even to this day. After Siena, we had lunch at a local farm near San Gimignano. The lunch was pretty much all organic food and products of the farm (including the wine), except the cheese. We got to taste 4 different wine to go with the food: a white, then 2 reds, and finally a desert wine. The next stop was San Gimignano, the city of Medieval skyscrapers, and the BEST gelato in the world! Pisa was the last stop. Although Pisa is nice, but it just can't compete with the other two towns.

Florence Vespa Tour: Tuscan Hills and Italian Cuisine

Florence, Italy

What better ways to explore Tuscan Hills other than riding an Italian icon: the Vespa? Words just can't describe the thrill in riding a Vespa in the outskirts of Florence. We got to see the winery and olive country side. Our tour guide, Angelo, took us to all the scenic places and gave us a little history and background of the landmarks in the tour. We ended the tour at a local restaurant and the food and wine was awesome. Angelo also gave us couple recommendations of where to eat in Florence, and you can't go wrong with his recommendations!
