This was a great tour to give an overview of the Polynesian culture. It was like a mini cultural festival, learning snipits from each island. I expected to be upgraded to a guided tour when we boarded our tour bus, since that is what other reviews posted prior to my trip. As it turned out, we did a self-guided tour and planned our day so that we could see it all. We were not able to do all the hands-on learning activities though. The evening luau was enjoyable and the evening show: Ha! Breath of Life was well worth every penny.
We felt we spent a lot of time boarding vehicles and standing in line at the Gate Entrance. Our tour was at 10 am but we didn't actually get down into the bay to start snorkeling until 12:45. My suggestion would be to have Viator include the Gate entrance fee in their tour price and then have Hanama Bay allow us to bypass the line up at the gate. It's a good thing we only paid $20 each for this tour. That basically covered the transportation and use of snorkel equipment. On our particular day, we didn't see much active sealife, which added to our disappointment. Beautiful scenic spot though.
This was a great view of Oahu. Our pilot was good to point out things along the way. The dinner cruise was also lovely. We had to make a quick change in our booking because another tour could not accommodate our dates. We were very pleased that this tour was able to make changes quickly and accommodate us on our first day of vacation. After our morning helicopter tour, they drove us back to our hotel and then picked us up again later for the sunset cruise. This was great and gave us a chance to rest and change clothes for the evening.
