It was OK. I thought I was booking the train tour but it was a bus. The guide was good and was a lot of fun. I'd have preferred the train as it went into more remote areas it seemed. All in all it was good. Honestly I'd never set foot in Skagway again as there were 4 ships or maybe 5 ships in while we were there and you couldn't move. NYC wouldn't have been any more crowded. 12K people in a town where 841 people live is a bit crowded for me. The most interesting part of the tour was the picture of the line of humanity in the bus. People came for the gold rush and many died going after the gold. Interesting story but if you can, skip it and go to some other port.
Glacier was fine. Wish we'd have spent more time there and less time looking for whales. I have seen plenty of whales up close and this was not a good trip. We saw one whale for about 20 seconds and that was it so mainly it was a boat ride. At the glacier, there was a water fall that was massive and you could hike to it. Also there were chopper trips on to the Glacier where you could walk around on it. I think that would be cool. Our bus driver was great! We were on the way back to the ship when an IDIOT parked on a 4 lane road smack in the middle and had exited the vehicle (SUV) to take pictures of Eagles, the bus driver was pointing them out to us and when he looked up we were on the SUV. He clipped it with the mirror and broke it but that was it. It was a miracle that people didn't die as we were going about 60 miles an hour and he made a stuntman proud. He got a LOT of tips let me tell you.
The weather was phenom. About 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The trip is 360 for two people which quite honestly is too high for a zodiac boat. It was beautiful and there were salmon jumping, eagles flying and the scenery is special. Our guide was a hoot and we had fun. It was the best of the tours but part of that was the WEATHER.
