Although we have confirmed the pick up location at Ala Moana at 5am on 19th Jul, the tour bus never turned up to pick us up. We were there since 4.30am.There was another lady who was joining us on the same tour called the tour agency at 6am and was told that the bus will be coming around 6.15am to pick all of us up. We waited anxiously and by 6.45am, I decided to ditch the waiting area and headed to the nearest pay phone. There was no apologies from the tour company but instead, the tour agent pointed out the following to me :
1. We were not waiting at the designated area. (How could we go wrong when the earlier tour we joined with the same tour agent was at this particular pick up spot?)
2. The flight has left and we were supposed to drive to the airport on our own to begin with. However, the email confirmation state otherwise.
3. A phone call was made in the evening the day by the tour agent. I was surfing and only saw the call after 7pm. I quickly made a call back but the office was closed.
4. We were late. (Frankly, how could we be late when we have been waiting since 4.30am in the morning at the designated area).
Only when I kept pointing out the written confirmation, we managed to get our tour re-scheduled to another day. But that doesn't come smoothly because my husband got bumped off the flight because the flight was over-booked.
For the administrative service side, I would have to rate a ZERO for them.
However, from the tour personnels who brought us around, I would rate them 5 stars. They went out of their way to get us to travel together as a family (because my husband flew in another flight) and they had in-depth knowledge on the volcanoes.
The kids were bored really fast because there wasn't much to see. They were expecting a more natural corals and reefs but what they got was more of an artificial landscape reefs/corals. The interactive conversation only involves the few people who sits near the co-captain. However, i do notice the safety measures taken for all passengers.
The only thing I wished for is to have more time to explore the museum, the Bowfin submarine and the surrounding. But this is definitely a good tour that I would recommend.
