Very interesting and informative - self guided means you can take as long as you want in each section. 'Skip the line' not necessary as we visited early December weekday and there were very few other visitors there although the bar at the top got very crowded. Only problem - direction signs from James tram stop not very good - Dublin tourist Board/Guiness take note. O.K. if you are on a 'hop on, hop off' tour as buses stop right outside.Visit itself well worth the money. Guinness shop had good range of souvenirs - not too expensive unlike some attractions.

This is a good introduction to the local culture if you are a first time visitor. The guide was especially informative. We had a very good visit around the main market, which was not a tourist area, where we could see everyday life for locals.
