Venice Tour Including Gondola Ride

Venice, Italy

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

The walking tour was very interesting and relaxing. Considering how crowded it is in Venice in high season, it was great to be able to explore the quieter part of Venice with a small group. The Gondola ride was amazing and certainly romantic, 30 mins was over very quickly, it would of been good to have gone for longer, 1 hour perhaps.

Skip the Line: Venice in One Day Including Boat Tour

Venice, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This tour was disappointing, our group was too big to travel through the small street of Venice in high season. The guide did not have a very good microphone so we could barely hear what she was saying on top of the very strong hard to understand accent, we got words here and there which made the whole experience very frustrating. Usually a day tour would mean we spend the whole day going places with 30mins -1 hour for lunch and then activities will resume. This one was not like that at all. We started with the walking tour which lasted for 2 hours then we were told to meet again 3.5 hours later to do the grand canal boat ride which went for 1 hour. So all in all we only got 3 hours of activities for what suppose to be a whole day tour. This is definitely disappointing and definitely not value for money! We would not be recommending this quite the contrary.

Murano Glass and Burano Lace Tour from Venice

Venice, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

The factories were offering free water taxi and visits by the dozen, we felt ripped off that we had to pay for our tour. We took up one of the free offers and quickly learned that there were more than 1 factory that made glass products, in fact there were many (and no, each family do not make exclusive or unique glass works, they all seem to copy from one another as each of their show rooms exhibit same products) Had we not taken this free trip we would of not learnt the VAST price difference, for example an artwork we saw at one factory wanted 5500 Euros, the same work at another factory was going for 1/2 that and that's before any negotiation. You really have to shop around. Also glass on the main island i.e Venice is exactly the same as that from Murano, they used to be able to make it from the mainland but due to fire hazards, all the factories had to relocate to Murano, there fore there is no different what so ever between Venice glass or Murano glass, exactly the same. Burano, the island that specialize in lace was a pleasant surprise, quitter than Venice and Murano and had a great feel and charm to it and the lace was very very beautiful.

Milan Half-Day Sightseeing Tour with da Vinci's 'The Last Supper'

Milan, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This was a very disappointing tour. Where on our booking sheet does it say the tour is bilingual???? had we know everything thing was going to be translated to two languages we would of booked a different tour!!! and because everything had to be translated to other languages, it took FOREVER and dampen the experience. Worst still, when we finally got to the place to view the last supper, our tour guide gave us a ticket for admission into a German speaking slot, it did get translated into English, but she could of just given us the English speaking slot??? we were very very upset and expressed our disappointment but the guide didn't see an issue with it.
The attraction is worth a visit but make sure you book a tour that speaks the language of your choice only, bi, tri lingual tour is a waste of time and will sour your experience.

Royal London Sightseeing Tour with Changing of the Guard Ceremony

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This was definitely not worth seeing. No where on the information sheet does it say, they do not change the guards in bad weather, considering what the weather in London is like, it is highly likely that you will encounter bad weather and you are paying for something that you won't get, and there is nothing else to compensate with if the change of the guard does not take place.

London Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This tour and our experience was terrible. First of all the guide wasn't an "English man" he said he does not consider himself a Briton, this is all and well but if you are going to be a tour guide for that capital city, at least act like you like the city and under no circumstances do you ever dish it. He made a constant point to distant himself as a Briton at every opportunity, it was very off putting and frankly rude. He's been doing the job for 11.5 years, and 10.5 years too long, he was boring, un-enthusiastic about everything, did not have a lot of positive comments about London. He was not clear on meet up points and we subsequently got lost (you may say that is our fault, but consider we went to 21 tours all together on this trip and we did not miss or was late for any other) Weather aside as no one is responsible for that, a lot of the attractions we went to was pretty much a drive by or look but only from the outside, for example we stopped at Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, etc....but that's only to take picture from the outside. I can do that myself I don't need to pay good money to do that!
then there was the chaotic Victoria Coach Station, that's an experience in itself, how stressful and confusing and set a very bad tone for the rest of the day. By the time we found the right gate and tour (believe me you need a PHD to get it right) we boarded our bus, all ready to go except no bus driver, we sat around waiting for the bus driver to be located, we were delayed leaving and that was the tone for the rest of the tour. At our first pick up point, we had to walk up and down this path trying to hook up with the bus which was no where to be seen, eventually when he came round he parked the bus with the door right by the bin so you physically could not walk onto the bus without squeezing yourself pass a rubbish bin, and the thing is had he moved few meters forward or back all would of been fine.

Viator Exclusive: Palace of Versailles and Court of Scents Tour

Versailles, France

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

The palace was an amazing place, but I think they need to limit the number of people that can enter the venue at any one time. The place was so crowded and people walking round with their head sets like zombies made it a dismal experience, you could not really see anything because the whole time you are trying to pass people who are just standing there or you are try to avoid people from crashing into you because they are not paying attention to where they are going due to being distracted by the head set.

A visit to Paris is not complete until you go to a show at the Moulin Rouge, this was a magical day, the dinner at the Eiffel tower was good, the river cruise was relaxing and it was good to see the city from the water. But the most fabulous part was the show, bedazzling!!! Amazing!!! Well done.

Artistic Barcelona Including Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia and Skip-the-Line Entry to Park Güell

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This was the most disappointing tour (we had 21 in total), I would not recommend at all. Firstly the tour is a bilingual tour...where on our booking sheet does it say that? had we know we would of booked an English speaking tour only as time is precious and you don't want to wait around for the Guide to translate into different languages. It really ruin the whole experience.
But more disappointing than that was the fact that on this tour we only got to see the outside of the Sagrada Familia, WHERE ON THE BOOKING DOES IT SAY THAT???. Why on earth would I want to visit the façade only of one of the most important monument in the Barcelona??? This was the main reason we went to Barcelona and to only get to see it on the outside was most disappointing, and because we only had 1 day in Barcelona we did not have time to go ourselves. I would not rate this tour but I have to tick at least one star to be able to submit my review.

Private Day Trip to Nice and Monaco

Avignon, France

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This by far was our most disappointing trip of our holiday. It was our fault for not realizing the tour pickup and drop off point was in Avignon which is 3 hours drive each way from Nice, Why? the tour is suppose to be of Nice and Monaco so why on earth would we want to be picked up from Avignon??? This makes no sense what so ever, consequently we had to cut our tour short by 6 hours because we were staying in Nice and the tour Guide came from Avignon to pick us up. Our tour guide was useless. He admitted it's been a while since he's done this tour so we consequently got lost driving through Monaco and spent a lot of our time in the car stuck in heavy traffic. For the life of me I cannot understand why he had to drive us into a car park looking for a parking space? which took over 30 mins.
Considering our tour is already cut short by 6 hours, and we spent most of our time stuck in a car in heavy traffic, looking out the window. Waste of money.

My Review

This was an amazing day, our tour guide Stefano was fantastic. We got to the very best of the Tuscany province without the fuss of planning and driving had we did it on our own. One of the towns we visit on the tour was Gimignano, this place is an amazingly beautiful medi-evil town, so far removed from the hustle and bustle of Rome.

Good tour to get the best of Florence cultural history. Our tour guide was very ordinary, she was not professional and not what you would call a people's person.
The statue of David was stunningly beautiful, and equally other works of art. The Medici family history and legacy was very interesting.

Vatican VIP Experience: Exclusive Breakfast at the Vatican with Early Access to Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

On this trip to Europe and London, we had a total of 21 tours, this by far was the best. Our guide Rachael was fantastic, she was warm, witty and knowledgeable. Breakfast at the Vatican before the public was allowed admission was AMAZING and the food that was on offer was delicious. Our group which consists of 7 people had the place to ourselves, we were able to explore in absolute exclusivity. Of cause when doors were open to general admission, things got a bit crowded, but then again it is to be expected in high season at one of the most visited places in Rome. Nevertheless it does not take away the splendour, beauty and wonder that is the magnificent eternal city.

Skip the Line Private Tour: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Art History Walking Tour

Rome, Italy

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

We had a private tour for this attraction which meant we were able to do things at our own pace and ask as many questions as we like. Our guide was a local, she was very knowledgeable, passionate about her work which was very refreshing to see. The whole tour was a bit long, but that was only due to the 40 degree heat and not much shelter at the Colosseum or the Roman Forum. If you are into history then this is the tour for you. We enjoyed it despite the stifling heat.
