Venice is a confusing place. When you arrive at most places, you grab a taxi and get taken to your destination. Venice is different. The airport is simple enough but you are then presented with a myriad of options. You also have to know where you are going in the City, when to get off a bus, water taxi or whatever. You then have the challenge of dragging suitcases around small streets . This transfer is expensive. It was nearly £200 to transport a family of 5 to our hotel. But so worth it. We grabbed our bags and found a really nice man waiting with a sign. He walked us straight to a very cool water taxi and we shot off. It felt very VIP. He then took is to the door of the hotel. It was fun and a perfect start to our time in Venice. It made a huge difference to the start of the holiday. Sure you could book your own transport. On the way back, we took the public transport water taxi and all the kids felt sea sick.. My advice. Bite the bullet on the cost of this and enjoy it..
