Las Vegas, Nevada
We had a really fabulous day, we were picked up promptly at 8am from our hotel by the driver at Vegas 500 and after checking in at the airport we were greeted by our pilot Cathy (with whom we had a great day and even pursuaded her to come on the Skywalk with us). After take off from the small airport in Vegas we had a fabulous view of Vegas and the surrounding areas and there was an in-flight commentary which helped to get an idea of exactly what you were seeing, the flight took about half an hour until we landed at the airport at the west rim. Cathy got our tickets for the Skywalk and we then boarded a bus which took us to the Skywalk at Eagle point on which the driver gave us a hilarious description of the area. No queuing at the Skywalk as we already had our tickets, all items needed to be put into lockers which are free. There are photographers on the Skywalk who take plenty of photos for you which you can then purchase in the giftshop (we couldn't choose which ones so paid to have them put onto a USB stick), the view from the Skywalk is magnificent but it is more of an experience feeling like you are walking on air as there is just a glass floor (you do need to wear covers over your shoes) and you can see right down into the canyon. After leaving the Skywalk you can look around some native huts where you then board another bus which takes you up to the Viewpoint at Guano Point where you are left to roam around at look at the views which are breath taking we had about an hour to have a look around, then re-boarded the bus to take us back to the airport where there is a gift shop. There was bad weather coming in so we made our way back to the plane and our pilot Cathy did a magnificent job flying around the weather but seeing a storm from the air was fab. We also had a fabulous birds eye view of the Hoover Dam on the way back. All in all a fabulous day would highly recommend!!!!

We were picked up from Bally's Casino and Hotel and after a few more pick ups around the strip were driven out to the Hoover Dam. Our driver was Bill and the Tour Guide was Jason, both of whom were very knowledgeable and funny. First stop was the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge and after a short climb and walk we were getting views of the dam that until a few years ago were only available by Helicopter. After some photos we were driven down and over the Dam to get a good look at the structure before going inside to get a look at the inner workings. The tour of the inside was informative but very structured as this was run by the Government. Once outside Jason again took over the tour and surprised us with his knowledge of the Dam and its origins. It was very hot on the day of the tour but Jason had a fully stocked cooler on board and kept everyone well hydrated. We left the Dam and drove up to Boulder City for lunch in a diner which was fabulous (especially the Cucumber Salad) before taking a quick trip to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and then back to the Hotel. Altogether a fantastic day.
