This is a better way to see the Eiffel Tower as you get to skip the long lines to get to the first and second levels. However, you will still need to wait in line to get to the top. This line was not too long, except that some of the tourists got a little pushy and we almost fell as a result. The view at the top is worth the wait, however. You get a 360 degree view of Paris and it's spectacular. The tour guide doesn't actually give you a tour, but gives you useful information at the base of the tower (i.e. skip the first level as it's currently under construction and it doesn't provide any better view than the second level). Overall, a pretty good experience.
This was a fairly convenient way to travel around Paris and see some of the sites along the way. The staff were very helpful and the boats came every 15 minutes. The boats move in a clockwise circle route, and so you do need to plan your trip accordingly. For example, if you want to go from the Musee d'Orsay to the Eiffel Tower, you either need to travel the complete route, as the Eiffel Tower is the stop before the Musee d'Orsay, or cross the Seine River over to the Louvre to board the boat there. It's not difficult to figure out, but it does take a little extra time to walk. The only real complaint I have doesn't really have to do with the Batobus. When we disembarked at the Louvre, we climbed the stairs from the port to the street; the stairs were absolutely disgusting. We had to circumvent various puddles of urine as well as a large pile of stool. You can avoid this by walking further along the Seine to the next set of stairs as not all the stairs were as bad as that one. Also be careful of the uneven pavement when walking along the Seine; it's pretty easy to turn an ankle. All in all, it's a pretty good way to get to the major sites in Paris.
