Overall, the tour did not meet expectations. I expected a full day on the Rhine when in fact we actually were on the boat for maximum of 2 hours. Also, when looking for a hotel or other pick-up (airport for example) no one answered the phone when we called. We ended up paying 18 Euros for the two of us to take the train to Frankfurt from our airport hotel. My niece was not permitted to participate in the wine tasting even though this was part of the package for which we paid. The first concern was her age (she was of age) but since she was pregnant she was not going to drink the wine but she would have liked to learn about wine making in the region. We did not appreciate that she was excluded from this experience (and there were enough seating for her to have joined). There was little added value to have a tour guide accompany us on the boat as there were tape recordings of the information about the Rhine, castles etc. What really cheapened the experience was the ongoing onslaught of extra costs first starting with the chair lift, then the dessert at the restaurant, and the pushing of DVDs etc on the boat. I think we paid enough for the tour to have been offered dessert and the chair lift !!!
