Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Day Tour from Munich

Tour / Activity

My Rating: 5 star rating: Highly Recommended

Location: Munich, Germany

My Review: This tour went well beyond my expectations. Our tour guide was superb. He was knowledgeable and had a great personality which enhanced our touring experience. The weather cooperated so that we had spectacular views of the Bavarian Alps. The castles were magnificent structures to view and tour. Our stop at Oberammergau was an added plus to this tour because it allowed us an opportunity to see this famous village as well as shop for souvenirs. This tour was well worth the time and money that it cost. I would certainly do the tour again because the Bavarian Alps and these castles are so awesome. By the way, I rated this tour 4-stars, absolutely fantastic, but it deserves a 5-star or more rating.

Heidiland and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich: Two Countries in One Day

Tour / Activity

My Rating: 4 star rating: Recommended

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

My Review:

This was a wonderfully beautiful tour. The scenery was spectacular. Our guide was very knowledgable. Our lunch break was just the right length of time that allowed us to see some of the town of Rapperswil. Our guide recommended a delicious cheese pie at one of the restaurants which I throughly enjoyed. I wish I could have sampled all the restaurants but could not. Heidiland was beautiful. However, the walk from the bus to Heidi's house was more treacherous than the guide suggested. It would have been better to walk along the road or pavement than the short cut through the field on the narrow path that sometimes was a bit difficult, especially for older people who have difficulty maintaining their balance. Nevertheless the scenery and area were beautiful to see. It would have been nice to have more time in Lichtenstein to sample the shops and maybe grab a snack to eat. As it were we really only had time to get our passport stamped and mail a few cards.

Mount Titlis Day Tour from Zurich

Tour / Activity

My Rating: 5 star rating: Highly Recommended

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

My Review:

This tour was all that I expected. I enjoyed it tremendously. The drive from Zurich to Lucerne has splendid scenery with Lucerne itself being the climax of the drive. It would have been good to have a longer stay in Lucerne so that we would have had enough time for lunch and exploring more of the old town (even 15 minutes more would have helped). Nevertheless, we had a nice lunch near the Jesuit Church, which itself was a treasure to explore. We did make it back to the bus for a beautiful trip to Mt. Titlis. Our ascent to the top was spectacular; it was an awesome experience to ascend to the top in the 3 different cable cars. The ice cave was a neat thing to explore when we got to the top. Our tour guide was very helpful and knowledgable. She provided us with very useful information before we arrived at the mountain. It was a fabulous experience that I would recommend for anyone.

Stanserhorn Tour with vintage Cable Car and revolving Restaurant from Zurich

Tour / Activity

My Rating: 5 star rating: Highly Recommended

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

My Review: The Stanserhorn tour was fantastic. We had a tour guide from Zurich to Lucerne but on the mountain itself we did not have a tour guide. This was 'ok' because going up the mountain was easy on the cogwheel train and cable car and it allowed us to explore the top of the mountain completely on our own. We had plenty of time to do this. As an added help our tour guide gave us his telephone number in case we needed to reach him he and the rest of the group went on to Titisee Mountain. The only downside to the whole experience was the cost of our lunch which was 48 Swiss Francs for 2 it was a traditional Swiss meal of noodles, potatoes and apples but we thought it was over-priced although it was good. I would do the trip again but next time I will do a different mountain because I have already seen Stanserhorn and the magnificent views it provides the weather cooperated for very clear views of the surrounding alps and valleys.
