Got to the bus stand outside Santa Maria Novelli station early (0830) as we were a family of four and wanted to sit together on the coach. We found that the coach was full when we got aboard, but Walkabout tours were well organised and a second coach was laid on and arrived only 5 mins later. Our tour guide for the day was Barbara and she was extremely knowledgeable, humorous and very passionate about Italy. Our itinerary for the day was Sienna, San Giminano and Pisa, with a stop for lunch at an organic farm (which was the highlight for me as the food and wine was delicious set against an extremely scenic, iydilic and peaceful landscape). The stop in Sienna was however too short, where a local tour guide took over, who in my opinion spent too long stopping and talking about the history and gave us less time to explore on our own. In contrast, the stop in Pisa was too long, but again Barbara was invaluable in giving us tips on how to get that perfect picture of holding up the tower! We arrived back in Florence around 1930. All in all, I would definitely recommend this tour if you want a one day whirlwind overview of some of the best that Tuscany has to offer. Yes, there's lots of walking and hills, but if you can manage this, you will be well rewarded!!
