Las Vegas, Nevada
Amazing, fabulous, awesome, breath-taking and out of this world. Do we need to say more. From start to finish we cannot complain. Collected on time from our hotel, taken to McCarren airport. Given a safety talk/video to listen to. Patrick our pilot was knowledgeable and very pleasant. There were four of us and Patrick in the helicopter. We flew over Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam and across the desert crossing from Nevada into Arizona to land in the Grand Canyon for our Champagne picnic which Patrick set up whilst we had time to take in or try and take in the views the Grand Canyon had to offer. Our picnic consisted of an individual picnic hamper containing enough food. We also had soft drinks and water at hand after of course our champagne that was indeed served in champagne glasses. We had approximately 30 minutes in the Canyon. It was extremely hot. The flight back took us home via the Strip starting at the north end of the strip (Freemont Street and the Stratosphere end) and flew straight down so we had a perfect aerial view of one of the best places in the world.

This form of transportation was ideal for getting from the MGM Grand all the way to the Sahara stopping at approximately 6 stops. The monorail travels behind the major hotels avoiding the main strip enabling a faster way of getting around. The strip is extremely busy with vehicles and people alike and it longer than you think. The only draw back we saw was each stop meant that you had quite a walk from the station through most hotels to get to the strip. However, each stop is very well described with what is around each stop. We also found that no matter what time of day or night we used it, it was never busy. The other great thing was, there was no tipping involved!!!! Taxis EXPECT a tip each and every time of a minimum of $2 which sounds nothing but when you need to use them often this mounts up to a vast amount.
