This tour would be highly recommended if the following issues are corrected:
- The group was not only English speaking and first guide (Mr. Ali) was speaking in various languages for all the tourists, this resulted in passing by some landmarks and getting the explanation in your comprehensible language after the landmark has been passed by.
- The visit to the leather jacket shop was not on the itinerary and we did not pay for that, nor we wanted it, it was a complete waste of our paid time.
- The visit to the Dolmabache palace was not complete because we did not see the whole palace, although the guide was really good (Mr. Emre) we did not visit the harem section of the palace, the time wasted in the leather shop could be used for the harem section.
The tour was nice and some issues need to be resolved in order to be highly recommended.
The guide (Mr. Omer) would be better if could accompany the group in order to show details of the sites (i.e. Haghia Sophia), otherwise the quick talk through the main things to see in a landmark worked just fine on the sites where group walking was not possible (i.e. the chambers in Topkapi palace).
Topkapi palace visit was not complete because the harem section was not visited. The wasted time in the carpet shop (it was not mentioned anywhere in the itinerary and was a complete waste of time) could have been used for the harem section in Topkapi palace.
Another issue is that we had the lunch and the visit to the underground cistern and almost stumbled over the Million, but the guide did not mention anything about this landmark, it is a pity to stand 5 metres away and not mention it at all. Same could be said for Cemberlitas (Constantine'e column and Cemberlitas hamam built by Mimar Sinan), they could have been mentioned on the way to/from Kapali carsi (Grand Bazar).
