Our tour guide, Monica, was a wealth of information and that made all the difference. We had a nice panoramic view from Piazzi Michelangelo and the full day included a great lunch at a local place bookended by both the Uffizi and Academy tours. Well worth it!
Our tour guide was great -- really knew his history and had a good command of English. That's about the only good thing I can say about this tour. The bus driver flew by the various landmarks so unless you had an iPhone and were sitting on the correct side of the bus so you could hold your phone directly against the window, don't even think you're going to get a picture. Likewise, passengers missed so much of the landmarks b/c they weren't on the correct side of the bus. The stop at Trevi Fountain was nice and it's gorgeous at night, but it would have been great to have similar stops at the Colliseum, even if only for a 5-minute photo shoot. For people who can't walk far, this is probably also not a good tour for you--there's about a 10 minute walk to Trevi Fountain and another 10 minute walk or so to Bernini Square. If you've seen all the landmarks during the day, this might be nice to see the contrast at night. This was our first tour in Rome, and overall it was rather disappointing. I wouldn't really recommend it, especially if you're an avid photographer.
