If this is your first time at the Eiffel tower, this is a wonderful tour. First, you won't have to wait in line for hours to get tickets to get in. Tickets are time-stamped for entry, but if you don't get your tickets in advance, it could be an all day affair waiting to buy tickets, and then waiting to get in. With this tour, all of that hassle is taken care of for you. However, it's not a tour that leads you from start to finish with a guide. Your guide meets you outside, he (a very nice expat from the US) gives you an introduction and brief history of the building and then you are off on your own, skipping all the lines (except the one from the second platform to the summit, where everyone has to wait, but it's quick). This was one of the highlights of our visit, and then we came back one evening and took in the hourly light show where thousands of "light bulb" on the towers flash randomly and do a "show" of their own for 5 minutes. This is every hour on the hour. And you can see if from anywhere in Paris where you can see the Eiffel Tower. What a wonderful experience! I would certainly do this again.
