We went on this trip on Unification Day, so travel to and from the Rhine River took an extra long time. The lunch was minimal and not that great. The river cruise was nice and informative. The wine tasting was OK, but they were more focused on selling you their wines than teaching you about German wine in general. One thing that really put us off was that our tour guide walked through the bus on our return trip requesting tips. Then, without prior warning, made extra stops before getting to Frankfurt.
Visiting Linderhof and Neuschwanstein is definitely worth it, but I recommend going on another tour. Our guide didn't have the best English language skills (and I do understand that English is her second language) and she repeated herself so much. It got really annoying by the end of the day, not only for my party, but for others as well (I could hear the grumbling).
