Overall the tour was just "OK." I can't say that it was "worth doing" or that I would "recommend" it over other similar tours. For those wondering, the price is about $50 more than what you would pay for simple admission to the museum to explore on your own (or with a rented electronic guide). We went on an evening tour on a Friday in late September and the museum was still very crowded so I can only imagine that a day time tour during the peak season would be unbearable. There was no line for admission at this time and this is the only line that you are "skipping" throughout the museum. Once inside, you are fighting for viewing space with everyone else. Our guide was pleasant and informative so she is not the reason that I am rating this tour only 2 stars. First, there was more than 20 people in our group (which was the "B" group to an equally sized "A" group) so if you think the group will be small and intimate, it will not be. Second (and granted this is beyond Viator's control but I am rating the tour here, not the website), we had a few elderly persons (who probably should have been in a special access group) which slowed the group down considerably, especially when one of the women nearly fell over and passed out and had to sit down and rest as we rounded the Italian Renaissance painters. Also, there was two quite precocious young children that had constant trouble with their headsets (they were the only ones in the group that had any trouble with the headsets). Finally, the one knock on the tour itself was that the guide began allowing the same over inquisitive two people to dominate her attention to test their own knowledge of history (routinely asking questions to which she had just provided the answer) which eventually led to some people ending the tour early and leaving to explore on their own. If you are looking for an introductory, guided tour of the Louvre at this price point, I suppose you could do worse but don't expect anything above ordinary.
