Had a fun time. Our guide was third generation Venetian and gave us a brief tour and history of Venice before we started eating and drinking. Her English was very good, and it was quite a pleasant evening spent!
It was a long day, but a great way to see a lot of the area in few days we had to spend in Paris. Our guide in Versailles was wonder and kept us entertained while we waited to go inside. The lunch was about what you would expect... Left to our on devices we would have had a CroqueMonsieur at a sidewalk cafe. But it was fine and a nice break before the rest of the tour.
Save your earplugs from the Versailles tour to use on the bus tour of the city. These will work better! Make sure to sit upstairs if you are on a double decker bus to see more. After this we went to the Eiffel Tower. My husband and I chose not to go up, and instead went straight on to the boat tour of the Seine. It was a great finish seeing the city by water. Take along cab fare to get back to your hotel for a really great day!
If you flew all night and got into Paris too early to check into your hotel, then I suggest you give this walking tour a try. We checked our bags with the hotel and caught a cab to our meeting spot. The fresh air and the exercise was great. Our guide was young but knowledgable, and her English was great. By walking we got a better feel for the city, and how to get around. Our French is limited but it was not a problem. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately we gave out of steam with about a half of an hour to go, so we caught a cab back to our hotel. By then our room was ready and we got in a little nap before we started exploring on our own.
