Las Vegas, Nevada
Seeing the Grand Canyon was brilliant but the day could have been better simply by cutting it shorter. We were picked up from our hotel at 6am to be taken to this industrial estate a few miles away. On arrival we queued up to have a pointless photo and then queued again to be given a wrist band and then queued again to get on a coach!
We arrived at Hoover Dam for a twenty minute stop for a couple of photos. When we boarded back on the coach, we were told by the driver that the brand new coach worth a million dollers had broken down. Fear not, said the driver, "another coach is coming to pick us up and will be with us in twenty minutes". One and half hours later, the coach arrived to pick us up and take us on to Grand Canyon.
We had about a two hour drive on the new coach which was nice, taking in the views etc. We then ditched that coach and boarded an old coach to take us on the final stretch as the roads are a bit dusty and they don't want the new coaches damaged?
Once at Grand Canyon, we had a nice time but the four hours given to us is in my opinion way too long.
We got back to our hotel in Vegas at about 8.30pm. A long, long day which could easily been cut a lot shorter and therefor would have been much more enjoyable.
