Singapore City Tour with optional Singapore Flyer

Singapore, Singapore

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

My Husband and I visited Singapore for the first time recently and decided to book the Singapore City Tour and (optional) Singapore Flyer, and we were not disappointed. Our Guide, Philip, was most professional, knowledgeable and entertaining. Our visit to Raffles Hotel for Afternoon Tea was a delight, and of course, we had to celebrate by having a Singapore Sling! We chatting and made friends with our fellow Afternoon Tea Guests and the Buffett was amazing.
The views from the Singapore flyer are wonderful. There are so many iconic buildings to photograph and this is easy to do in the 30 minutes it takes for the full revolution of the pod.

It really was a great way to see a lot of the City, and it's modern history, and made our stay in Singapore one to remember.

Raffles Hotel Singapore Half-Day Tour

Singapore, Singapore

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

What a great experience the Raffles City and Hotel is. After taking a very interesting and informative Tour of the City, in the footsteps of Sir Stamford Raffles, my Husband and I had High Tea at Raffles Hotel. Our Guide, Philip was a joy. Not only pointing out the various buildings and their history, but by being very amusing too. The splendid Raffles Hotel is one of best in Singapore and the Buffet were amazing. Due to Philip's insight, our group of 12 were in place nice and early outside the Tiffin Room and were the first people to be seated. He advised us to take our places, then make our way immediately to the Buffet, which we did. Philip also advised that if we were considering ordering Singapore Sling, to do this as soon as possible, as it can take some time for the bill to be issued. As well as the food at the Buffet, which you can visit as many times as you like, there are several plates of sandwiches and cakes on the tables, and copious amounts of tea and coffee. We decided that you cannot visit Raffles in Singapore, without a Singapore Sling, so did this as soon as were returned to the table. Photo's are allowed to be taken, but only of members of your table and certainly not of the Buffet. Several Members of our Group took photo's without problems.
After our visit to Raffles, we went to a Pewter Factory/Showroom and a Guild explained the process by which the Pewter is made usable for tankards, jewellery, ornaments etc which an opportunity to bye items of your choice. I purchased a small Pewter "Merlion", which is the Singaporean mythical creature half Lion and half Fish, as a little memento of our trip to Singapore.

Perth and Fremantle Tour with Optional Swan River Cruise

Perth, Australia

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

My husband I were visiting several places in Australia and decided to take the Perth City and Fremantle Tour with a Cruise down the Swan River, in order to see as many of the sights possible in a short time. We were picked up at one of the Hotels near to where we were staying, and then taken by Coach to Perth Harbour, where some people transferred to other Coaches, dependant on which Tour they were taking. The only hitch was that 2 ladies (in there 90's) had not transferred to the correct coach at the Harbour and we had to pull in and wait for another Coach to come and pick them up. Once this was dealt with, the Tour commenced without any further problems. The Driver/Tour Guide who was in his 70's, was very informative and entertaining. His driving was smooth and safe and he knew his route well. After seeing Perth we proceeded by road to Freemantle, which is a lovely Town, smaller in scale than Perth, with a great atmosphere and easy to get around. After a Tour of Freemantle, with the Driver pointing out various buildings and advising of their history, We stopped at a bus stop were we were issued with our Cruise Tickets.. There were 3 sailings that day. The Driver advised, that he would leave us to have a look around Freemantle for an hour then pick us up to take us to the Port, or we could stay in Freemantle longer and take a later Cruise, but we would have to get to the Port by ourselves. We decided to have a little longer and had lunch in one of the many cafe's and also took a long walk along the Port, which has more cafe's shops and also Micro Breweries, before boarding our Ferry to Perth. My only disappointment was that we took the Tour on a Monday and the town was a little quiet as the Markets only open Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Had we had visited on a Market Day, I feel it would have had a livelier atmosphere however, it did make it easier to be served, with no long waits for food.

Uluru and Kata Tjuta Tour by Helicopter from Ayers Rock

Ayers Rock, Australia

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

My Husband and I were visiting several places in Australia and his No1 wish for to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the "Red Centre" and to take a Helicopter ride over the area. We were picked up from our Hotel, Desert Gardens, by a very friendly Pilot and Helicopter Crew Member and made our way to the Helicopter Station, which is at the Airport. After both Crew had carried out the safety checks, we set off for our ride. We had decided on the longest rise (36 minutes), in order to see "The Olga's" as well as Uluru. We were not disappointed by what we saw. The Pilot was very informative, entertaining, but professional and we took great photo's. The land and rocks are a wonderful shade of Red, (depending on what time you view them) my only disappointment was that the Helicopter, which was a rescue vehicle, had front and back facing seats, which meant limited or no vision of the sights, at certain times. Other than this, it was a most enjoyable experience.

Sydney BridgeClimb

Sydney, Australia

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

WOW, what can I say, a fantastic experience. My husband and I were visiting several city's in Australia, and my No1 wish was to walk over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and I was not disappointed. The day before the Climb we went to check out the area and starting point, which is in the Rocks areas. This proved to be a good idea, as it took us quite some time to get there after leaving the free bus at Circular Quay. At check in, we were asked when we had arrived in Sydney, to check for Jag Lag and if we had eaten breakfast (we had an 11am Climb). Moving onto the 2nd part of check in, we were breathalysed and completed a questionnaire, before being allowed to the 3rd stage of being kitted up. Our Guide Scott was very amusing and entertaining, however, he was also very knowledgeable and professional. As we made our way up the steep steps onto the arc of the bridge, the feeling is amazing. It is so exhilarating and the sights are wonderful. Of course you can see the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, but we could also see several suburbs and the Blue Mountains. Scott took lots of photo's of us as a Group and also with are partners, family or friends too. We received a Certificate, Complementary Photo and also a short video we each made with a message, ie, This is ............. and ..............., we just Climbed Sydney Harbour Bridge. Brilliant Day

Sydney Tower 360 Bar and Dining

Sydney, Australia

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at the 360 Bar in Sydney. It is quite easy to find, the Restaurant is situated at the top of the Westfield Shopping Complex. We checked it out the day before we ate there, so we would not be late, as they only hold your table for 10 minutes, due to it's popularity. We have eaten at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, but found the food at the 360 was much nicer. The portions were also surprisingly large. Our Sommelier was very knowledgeable, not only about wine, but also Australian Beers, which my husband wanted to sample. All in all, a very enjoyable evening, an a nice excuse to dress up on holiday.

Dubai Super Saver: City Sightseeing Tour and Desert Safari

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

We booked the Super Saver City Sightseeing Tour and Desert Safari, as I wanted to see the sights and my husband wanted to see the Desert.
The City Tour was very informative, interesting and value for money. It wasn't, however, very organised to begin with. We were picked up in a 4x4 at our hotel and were told we had to transfer to a larger vehicle. We were taken into the city, but had to wait a long time in the heat, before the other bus arrived, once we were transferred, everything went really well.
The Guide was very professional, but entertaining. They pointed out and explained the buildings and their history very well. Also enjoyed being taken to the Souk by dhow to buy items which would have been much more expensive in the Malls.

The Safari was fun packed with lots of different things to do, to suit most people. Although this was not my choice of tour, I am glad I went along. The drive across the desert was better than any funfair ride. The short camel ride was also an experience never to forget. We made new friends at the BBQ and the Male dancer was amazing, I thought, however, that the Female Belly Dancer should have been before him, as her routine seemed tiresome in comparison. Really liked the photo opportunities, especially the sunset.
