We enjoyed our 2 day tour on Kangaroo Island. Warning for anyone that gets motion sickness the ferry moves against the swell so a bit of a rough ride. There was a little confusion about which bus was ours it could have been prevented if they were colour coded so we could find it easily. Enjoyed the close encounter of the sea lions, the bird of prey demonstration, the opportunity to feed kangaroos but the two highlights were the pelican feeding and seeing the koalas at the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Loved this tour as it gave us a chance to see the wildlife. We had the opportunity to feed kangaroos and see lots of other wildlife. The weather was VERY cold when we went for the little penguin walk and so it did influence our experience. We purchased the upgraded tickets so we had a ranger with us to share information. Our tour began with sitting on the beach to see the penguins first come in then moving to other areas to get a better view. It was easier to see the penguins from the board walk rather than just sitting on the beach watching them come in from the ocean although it was certainly a sight seeing them decided if they were going to run for cover. The tour at the Summerland beach was very disorganized - we were to meet at the green spot at 7:30 but there was no one there at the appointed time and lots of people milling around. The ranger was late in arriving so we ended up with a shorter time then planned but since the weather was cold it worked out.
