Other than the fact that Ronda was beautiful, this is the worst tour I have ever been on. Originally, after reading the reviews, I planned to take a train or bus from Malaga, then decided for the convenience to take the tour after all. I wish I had heeded the reviews. There were no hotel pick up in Malaga, so I had to walk a long way at 6:30 in the morning to a central pick up place. Then we proceeded to pick up all along the coast (lost count at 10) for approximately two hours. It took four hours to get to Ronda! The same happened on the return. This was absolutely absurd. There was no "guided wine tour" in which we "learned about Spanish wines". We were given a plastic cup and told to go around the different faucets on the wall to taste the different wines (no explanation, same cup for all wines). I suggest minibus tours (there were certainly enough travellers from Malaga to fill a minibus). If this is not cost effective, limit the days and have two or three bus tours per week from Malaga alone.
This was a wonderful trip! Our guide, Garay, was both personable and knowledgeable. Vitoria and Laguardia were so beautiful. The wine tasting was very well done. We learned so much about the history of the Basque people and present customs. The fine print mentioned that the tour could be cancelled if there were not enough people. We were the only couple, but the tour went on-just as a private tour (at no extra charge).
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina
Excellent, beautiful tour, excellent guide. Carlos Martinez was with the group the entire time, double checking to make sure everyone was clear on where to to be and when. We felt very comfortable the entire time. Lunch was great!
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina
The morning part of the trip was excellent. We were guided along the hike by our guide. When we were picked up, he tried to "upgrade" everyone's boat ride to include a jeep safari. Everyone but us upgraded. At !2:30 he gave us tickets to the regular boat ride (which was awesome) and sent us off to the pier with directions on how to get there and back. We got lost several times, and had to ask other tour guides for directions. It was stressful! We booked a guided tour to be taken care of. If we had wanted to be on our own, we could have visited the park independently much more cheaply. We did not meet up again until 3:00 for lunch. Luckily, we managed to get to the meeting point (thanks to other tour guides). Lunch at the end of the tour was too late in the day. We were very disappointed at being left on our own on a supposedly "guided tour". If there were going to be two options of boat rides, there should have been two guides, one for each.
