Aveiro Tour from Porto Including Moliceiro Cruise

Porto, Portugal

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

The tour was a total washout ! Arrived in Aveiro and it began raining. We sat on the Moliceiro boat holding umbrellas, and were then afterwards herded into a crowded pastry shop and told to wait there for 20 minutes while the guide searched for a parking spot. Total waste of money !

Panoramic Porto Tour

My Review

This tour was not exactly as Viator describes it to be. Firstly, there was no "walking tour through the oldest quarter of Ribeira", and secondly they did not take us to Foz. We were dropped off outside the Cathedral and told to go inside and then meet the guide 15 minutes later. We were then dropped off outside the famous Bookshop and allowed free time there for a few minutes. The major part of this tour consisted of a visit to Graham's Port Lodge, where the guide once more left us to our own devices, and we were taken on a boring tour of the wine cellars by an arrogant little guy who rushed through his obviously rehearsed commentaries, and when it came to the wine tasting at the end, he disappeared, leaving us to stand around while other groups were given wine samples . This tour was a total waste of money, and not what we expected it to be.

Seville Classical or Historical Morning Sightseeing Tour

Seville, Spain

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

Seville is a beautiful, seductive and interesting city, and it would have been wonderful to have had a good guide on this tour, as there is so much we would have liked to know, but unfortunately the lady who was our "guide", spoke such bad English, that half the time we could not understand a word that she said. She spoke a lot of Spanish, and seemed to rush through the English commentaries. Unfortunatly I did not get her name, otherwise I could have saved others this total waste of money.

My Review

Excellent tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, spoke excellent English. We were a small group , and so it was a very personal experience, with him answering all of our questions. It was fantastic to be able to skip the long queue outside Sagrada Familia and just to follow him straight inside. This tour is really worth it as an introduction to Barcelona.

Lisbon City Sightseeing Tour

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

The guide tried to speak too many languages. She sometimes only got to speaking English only long after we had passed by some of the sights already. At the time of booking, I was led to believe that the tour would be in English ONLY. English is a UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE - everyone understands English. She should have left off the Portuguese, Spanish, and especially the German -( which she spoke very badly in any case.)

It was hard to tell as the rain poured down throughout the entire tour. I do feel that they could have shifted us to another day or given us our money back, as they could clearly see that it was going to be very uncomfortable for all of us in the heavy rain that day.

It was worth doing, but the half-day would have been sufficient.

The only complaint I have, is that the tour guide on the bus spoke too much Spanish and not enough English. Many times, she only switched to English after we had passed by the particular building she was discussing, because the Spanish commentary always came first.
