Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

Venice, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This tour was a lot of fun. Biggest bargain we got during our Italy Vacation. A comfortable boat took us from Island to Island. There was time to look around on each island, and each had it's own personality. Customer service was very good. There is a large information area by the main entrance to Venice and a representative from this tour worked there. Once you enter Venice it will take you almost an hour to walk to where the tour boats depart, or you can take take the water bus like we did. Obviously you have to pay for the bus, but it was really fun. Also, the boats depart right by St. Marks Square, so you see the main hub of Venice. Venice is a very expensive city to sit down in, and this boat tour was a wonderful, inexpensive way to see the Islands and relax. Everyone going to Venice should take this tour - there is nothing not to love!

Florence Cooking Class: Learn How to Make Gelato and Pizza

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

My sister and I sent our teenagers on this tour without us and they loved it! Florence is an easy city to walk around and they were able to go out on their own and do something fun. They said the class was a ton of fun, and they all got certificates of completion! The instructors were funny. The kids loved it. The pizza was very good, and they didn't make gelato, they watched it being made and ate it.

Florence Segway Tour

Florence, Italy

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The service is certainly as promised. Our tour guide was good, and the tour was informative. We found the segway to be a little more difficult to use then it appears. We were so focused on using the Segway that it was hard to listen to the tour. The boys LOVED the segways, and they had no problem. They also didn't care at all about the tour because they were having so much fun riding the segways. The girls loved the segways too, but they had to focus a little more. The adults along had trouble. We ran into things and fell down. Overall it was a really fun family activity, and the kids will be making jokes about our performance for years to come. I'd recommend this tour for the experience of using the segways and trying something new in this beautiful city. If you are unsure of your balance or mechanical ability, then you might want to try something different.

Friday Night Vatican Museums Tour Including Sistine Chapel

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This tour was great. Our guide had a degree in art history in addition to being a certified tour guide (which is a difficult certification to obtain in Italy). We appreciated her knowledge and passion for this beautiful place. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting Rome to take this tour. If you are not in with a tour group you have to wait in line for hours in the sun and then walk shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other people through the museums. Even skipping the line the crowds are unbearable. With this tour we often were the only people in the hallways. We could get good pictures, and appreciate the art. Also, our guide was excellent. Previously I had toured the museums but on this tour we went through the Pope's apartments. They are no longer furnished, but the walls and the stories are stunning. The disadvantage to the night time tour is that you don't get to skip the cue for St. Peters (go around 5:00 and you'll get right in) and a second disadvantage is that the Sistine Chapel is dimly lit so it was harder to appreciate. There is nothing in the world like the Vatican. I'm confident that this tour is the best way to see it.
