San Francisco, California
We enjoyed our trip though it was a long day almost 12 hours. Our driver Walter had car trouble on his way to work so we were late leaving San Francisco. Walter was very entertaining with a very dry sense of humour and picked some good photo stops along the way. Monterey was OK but 2 hours was too long there if you weren't going to the aquarium as there wasn't much else to do there but shop. The highlight was the 17-Mile Drive which took us to Pebble Beach golf course. Carmel was a pretty place full of expensive shops and not much else to do except to have a coffee as we only had an hour there. We stopped at a garlic place in the way back but that we felt was a complete waste of time. We probably picked the wrong tour but with limited time you have to make a choice.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour it was spectacular a perfect morning weather wise, even though we had to get up at 2.30am on our 40th wedding anniversary. It was certainly very cold at the summit but we came prepared with snow jackets beanies and gloves etc. Our driver Ron was a wealth of information and looked after us well. The coffee and pastries were good and the breakfast afterwards was a nice surprise, we weren't expecting that. We would have no hesitation in booking with Viator again.
