Mexico City, Mexico
I am satisfied with the tour and glad that I used the tour company instead of trying to get to Teotihuacan on my own. There was even one Mexican guy in our group who decided to use the tour instead of the local transportation. The guide was kind and knowledgeable. They told everyone the pick up time was 6:15am but actually they picked me up at 6:50am and some people as late as 7:30am. Then we headed to Teotihuacan and got there in about 30 minutes so we were there around 8am. It was very chilly in the morning so be sure to bring layers because then it gets quite warm by 11am. The tour guide spoke and showed us some areas and then gave 1 hour and 15 minutes of free time to climb the pyramids. We were able to climb the Sun pyramid and part of the Moon pyramid (the top is closed) without much trouble and the view at the top was gorgeous. Then they took us to an obsidian and tequila making place where they told us about the processes to make these products. That was quite interesting and there was no pressure to buy anything but they did give samples of the tequila. I did end up buying a very small bottle of the sweet tequila that tasted like coffee as a gift for a friend I would be visiting in Mexico. I thought it was pretty reasonable. The tour guide then gave the group the option of stopping for the buffet lunch but we all decided just to head back to the city. I read mixed reviews about the buffet lunch so I was happy to go back and instead get some tacos from a taco cart on the street of Mexico City!
