Acropolis Walking Tour

Our guide gave us a comprehensive tour from Syntagma station to the top of the acropolis, with a lot of interesting information. Well worth doing. However the cost of the tour did not include the entrance fee to the acropolis. I re-read the info this was stated, but tours usually do include entrance costs so I missed it.

A good meal and a pleasant cruise around the cannals. There was no commentary, but we had done a walking tour before and knew most of the spots we went past. A commentary would have interfered with the dinner.

Even though there were only two of us the tour went ahead. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Amsterdam. As well as the main places of interest. He showed us places that there was no way we would have found, including the East India Company and this marvelous eating place. This was a really good way to see Amsterdam!

A really good overview of San Francisco if you don't have a lot of time. Saw all the famous sights of SF. The driver was very knowledgeable. You don't realise how steep the streets are until you try to go up them in a bus! Because of time constraints, we couldn't make the 10.00 am start for the Alcatraz and City Tour; we organised our Alcatraz trip separately. In calculation, if you have the time, it saves money to do the Alcatraz included trip. Alcatraz was an eye-opener.

Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam Day Trip from Las Vegas with Optional Skywalk

We had very impressive views of the Grand Canyon west rim. The Skywalk is definitely worth doing. It provides excellent views, so take that option. The real advantage of this trip was that the Skywalk was pre-booked, so we did not have to queue to buy tickets. If the views from the south rim are better, as some people say, then they must be really spectacular. We went on a very windy day, so eating outside was an experience. Hoover Dam was a nice photo stop. The bus driver commentary was very good. The 6:30 a.m. pick up was really 5:45 a.m., but that didn't matter to us.

This is a really good tool for New York. It saved us a lot of queuing, especially at the Empire State Building. We got our money's worth. The maps in the accompanying booklet were good and the booklet had good explanations.

Niagara Falls Day Trip from Toronto

We went in early Spring, so the Maid of the Mist was not running. However, Niagara Falls with ice on the river and the American falls iced up is "picture perfect." Niagara is a two-time visit: once in late winter or early spring and the other in late summer or autumn to ride the Maid of the Mist. The IMAX is included in the cost. It was alright, but you have to do the "behind the falls experience" at extra cost which was amazing in early Spring. Lunch was an excellent buffet meal. The winery was okay.
