You can see the cemetery when travelling from Cairo to the pyramids at Giza and its quite a sight. There's people land animals living in amongst the tombs and some of the tombs are spectacular, its a really unusal place to see.

Saqqara (Sakkara)
Cairo
My Rating

My Review
Sakkara was a really nice break after seeing the Giza Pyramids in Cairo. Not so busy but still very spectacular, and you can get very close to the big step pyramid. Like most places in Egypt though it was very hot out on the desert sand and there is not much shade to escape the heat.

My Review
As well as the beautiful scenic trip through the Daintree Rainforest to get to Cooktown, the town itself is a great place to visit. Its a really charming little colonial town with very friendly locals. The views from Grassy Hill Lookout are spectacular and a beer on the verandah at the Cooktown Hotel can't be beaten. It's a long day trip to get there from Cairns or Port Douglas but well worth the effort!

Four Mile Beach

My Review
Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas is one of my favourite beaches in Australia. The sand is compact so its easy to walk and cycle on, and the water is warm and calm. Its so long that there is plenty of room and never feels crowded or noisy.

Low Isles is so beautiful, definitely one of the top things to do when you visit Port Douglas. Snorkeling straight off the beach is brilliant and there are heaps of turtles around.
