The guide did well and tried to make the best out of a poor selection of highlights. The Malaysian village was uninspiring, the Mosque consisted of only a walk around and the hard sell shop didn't impress. If anything, the formality of crossing the Singapore/Malaysian border was worth the trip without the Malaysian highlights as an added feature.
Bad weather aside, the experience at the gardens was delightful. Well worth the visit to see one of the great gardens of the world.
Commentary on the bus was very poor while the canal boat skipper entertained with a commentary peppered with historical facts. In poor rainy weather neither can be recommended because inside windows fog up to such an extent that visibility is impossible. The bus tour needs to lift its game.
