Valencia Bike Tour Including Tapas

Valencia, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Our family of five had a wonderful time on this tour, bicycling on a sunny day down a safe and scenic bike path and stopping for Tapas/lunch and seeing the historic old town. Our English guide, Jose, was friendly and responsive to our questions. There were no others on the English tour, so it was great for us. On the same day, there was a large Dutch tour. Half way thru the tour, a bike tech was there to check our bikes. We arrived by taxi, since the bike shop is a long way from where we were staying at the beach (a short way from the bike paths); after the bike tour we returned to the beach area easily by metro/public transport. We felt it was good value to have the bikes, the tour guide, and the lunch.

Ronda and El Tajo Gorge Day Trip with Wine Tasting from Malaga

Malaga, Spain

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This is a wonderful tour! The scenery up the mountain and the El Tajo Gorge were amazing. Our group really enjoyed the stop at the local winery, where the wine tasting was "on tap", pour what you want and drink what you can in 15 min! We really enjoyed seeing the Plaza de Toros bullring and its museum, so that we could learn more about this part of Spanish culture. We had a chance for photos in the bullring which was fun! The tour description says it's a 90 min bus ride, but they picked us up in Malaga at 7:00 AM and stopped at about 20 hotels, inching along the coast, and arriving in Ronda at 11:15 am. Since we did not want a 4 hour return bus ride, we left the tour at 3 pm and paid for a public bus to take us from Ronda to Malaga in 90 min.

Seville Day Trip from Malaga

Malaga, Spain

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

This was a nice tour. The guide told us the history of the Arab/Jewish/Christian inhabitants and described the districts and took us through the cathedral with its large, recently renovated alter. The afternoon was free so we ended up also paying for a boat ride on the Guadalquivir River which gave more insight and information.

Granada Day Trip from Malaga, including the Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens

Malaga, Spain

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This tour was a highlight of our trip. We saw and learned a lot of history and enjoyed the day.
Because the Alhambra is the #1 destination in Andalusia province, it is very crowded. Our ticket allowed us into the Alhambra at a specific time and we had to stay on schedule. Our tour group of about 25 people had a guide who gave all info in English and Spanish, which takes time. We walked a lot and if you stopped for a photo, you had to hurry to catch up to stay with the group. We had a machine to hear the guide better, and if you fell behind, you couldn't hear. We did have a bathroom/water break mid-way through. The village, the views, and the City of the Alhambra are amazing.

Flamenco Show at Tablao Cantares in Madrid

Madrid, Spain

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

The musicians and dancers were amazing, and it made for a special evening out, with dinner and the show.
Don't know if it was worth the price, and we had to pay for taxi's as it was hard to get to by metro. We booked because we wanted to be sure to see a Flamenco show during our trip, and arranged it for the day of our arrival in Madrid, but there may have been other Flamenco shows available.
