We had a brilliant tour provided by our guide, Ariana. She provided us with lots of very interesting facts, some very funny, about the Doge and what it was like living in Venice at that time. I'd highly recommend this tour.

Murano Glass and Burano Lace Tour from Venice

Venice, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was an excellent tour. Murano and Burano can only be reached by boat. Our guide was Alessandra, and although she didn't take us around either island, she gave us so much interesting information about the history of Venice and the two islands while we made our way to the islands. The glass blowing demonstration at Murano was amazing, and the items for sale gorgeous. You can't believe they were blown from glass. From there we made our way to Burano, which is about the beautiful lace that is made there. We had a demonstration from one of the seven women who create the lace. What is most beautiful about Burano are the brightly painted houses reflected in the canals. We had plenty of time to shop, eat gelato, and take photos. It was a lovely day and a lovely tour.

Skip The Line: Best of Florence Walking Tour including Accademia Gallery and Duomo

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Another fabulous tour. Our guide was Paulo, and he was an art historian who loves Florentine art and Michelangelo. At the Academia Gallery, he spoke to us about Michelangelo's David with such passion and knowledge. We learned so much walking around the city, learning about the Duomo and its construction. Very well done and presented.

Cinque Terre Small Group Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was a fabulous tour. Our tour guide, Yaris, was very knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting facts about the areas we drove through to get to Cinque Terre. Cinuqe Terre is a beautiful place. We only got to see four of the five towns, but what we saw was amazing. Photos can't really capture the essence of its beauty. We had plenty of time to walk around, take photos, shop or ask the guide more questions. Our lunch of fresh fish and locally made wine was delicious and enjoyable. It was a great day out.

Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome

Rome, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

This was one of the worst tours we've ever been on. It took a long time to get everyone on the bus. We weren't provided information on how we could get picked up from our hotel. Our hotel helped us sort that out. There were 50 people on this tour with everything being translated into four languages. Our bus tour monitor, Monica was very fluent in her multiple languages, but she knew nothing or cared nothing about where we were going and what we were going to see. Naples is a depressed city, and it wasn't very pleasant to visit. The drive around the city was a waste of time. We then stopped off at the cameo factory, and the demonstration on how cameos are made was pitiful. We felt as if we were being pushed into buying, and the sales people there didn't want to take no for an answer. Lovely stuff, but expensive, and not into the hard sell. We then went to lunch in Pompeii. Four courses of the most awful food. It took nearly 2 hours to feed us. Then going back to the bus, one of our party decided to go shopping. We waited an additional 15 minutes for her to show up - we were ready to call the police. By the time we got into Pompeii, we only had a maximum of 1.5 hours to do the tour. Our tour guide that took us through the ruins was knowledgeable, but he was in such a hurry to get us through, that it wasn't as enjoyable as it should have been. There were six in our party, and we all felt cheated. We got dumped at the final gate by the guide who couldn't wait to get away at 4:45, and we had to make our way back to the bus. That took an additional 20 minutes because we couldn't find Monica, the bus or anyone from our tour. We found our group, and then Monica and the bus, but what a waste of time. We so wanted to see Pompeii, and we saw it in a blur. What a shame. I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Ancient Rome and Colosseum Tour: Underground Chambers, Arena and Upper Tier

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This tour was amazing! It was a small group, and we got in without waiting on huge lines, and it was fantastic. We had two tour guides: Kiera and Laura (Lara?). Kiera took us around the arena and the ruins, and Laura joined us amazing facts about how the Colosseum was constructed. Kiera gave us a tour of the remaining ruins - so knowledgeable and so full of energy. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was an amazing tour and so glad we opted for the small-group, skip-the-line tour. No waiting on long lines. Our tour guide was Nicola, and he was very knowledgeable and passionate about Rome's history. He brought to life emperors and artists, and there wasn't a dull moment. He truly loved his subject. Despite the crowds, we never felt rushed and he never lost sight of us. The Sistine Chapel was amazing as was St Peter's Basilica. The Vatican Museum had amazing artwork, murals and ceilings.
