Most informative once you got on the actual tour; found the video presentation not good I have seen much better archival footage and information from the NSW archives on the Opera House.
Information on the construction was minimal compared to what is available; although plenty of info on the politics surrounding its construction which I cannot see as being interesting for overseas visitors.
The tour itself was good, the information presented was interesting and to walk inside and see all that woodwork was fascinating. I believe more could be said about the wood, what it was, where it came from as it is an integral part of the Opera House. The tour guide answered these questions but I believe it should be a part of the information presented.
The views are incredible even on the very cloudy, wet and windy day we were there.
Note that there are large uncovered areas to walk to get to the Opera House so if it is wet you will require rain protection, umbrellas were useless on the day we were there the wind was so strong.
We purchased the tour and tasting plate lunch as a package and it was well worth it, there was plenty to eat and the presentation on the three tire plate was good. (This can be used at any time during the day) It should also be noted that at lunch times it gets very busy we just beat the rush but as we were eating we noted long queues to order.
We had a great outside seat overlooking the harbour but unfortunately had to move due to the rain. The coffee was OK, not hot enough for my liking but the taste was good.
For people who know nothing about the Opera House, who will probably never attend there for a performance I believe this gives you a good insight into the building.
WE took this tour to give us a better idea of the lay out and what there was to see in Adelaide. It was well worth while. Our tour guide was friendly and very informative even adding on extra information that made the tour more a chat with a friend vs a talk off a sheet. well done. Note that not all buses have a lift facility for those that have difficulty with high steps. Most passengers managed well, if slowly but no one seemed to mind.
