San Francisco, California
We had a short trip to San Francisco and with so much to do and see in the city we only had one extra day. We were excited to get to see Muir Woods and Sonoma and Napa Valley and visit the wineries in that one day. It was great to get picked up right at our hotel and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly (He was from Georgia just like us). Muir woods, before the crowds came, was awesome but we felt rushed and would have loved to have a little more time to walk the trails and see all the beauty. The wineries were all nice and interesting and we had more than enough wine to sample. I was a little wined out by the 3rd one. lol You could also buy wine and wine related accessories at the wineries. I would have given the tour five stars but it was a very hot day (upper 80's) and the bus air conditioner was not working well. We couldn't decide if we should go back to the hotel or get off in Sausalito. We were really happy we did. For two reasons - one it was cooler off the bus. But the main reason was we were able to walk around, shop, eat some ice cream, have a drink, take some beautiful photographs and then take the ferry back to Fishmerman's Wharf. I would recommend this trip and getting off in Sausalito especially if you don't have a car and are short on time. Chances are you won't have the hot bus issue as it was near record highs when we were there.
