This was an excellent tour! Breakfast was very good, but the setting is what made it special. By starting so early, we got to see the highlights of Vatican Museums before it was crowded. By the time we got to the Sistine Chapel, it was quite crowded, but we had a good amount of time inside to enjoy on our own before meeting up again with our guide. Then we visited St. Peter's, which is amazing in its scale. Our guide was outstanding and provided very useful and interesting information that made seeing the sites so much more significant. I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody!
The Colosseum and Ancient Rome tour in the morning was excellent. You could see the Coloseeum, Forum and Palatine Hill without the tour, but it would not have meant a lot. The historical information provided by the guide was a wonderful contribution to seeing these sites, and she was a very good guide (thought I can't remember her name now). The afternoon Best of Rome tour was not as good. There was still some interesting information shared, but to a large extent you could walk to these sites on your own and not miss out on a lot. I was very disappointed in our guide, Dorota, for a couple of reasons. First, she took us into a church that belongs to the French community to see some paintings by a certain artist. There is to be silence in the church, but she was talking to the group the whole time, and eventually someone came up to her and kicked us out! Outside she told us that this site was not on the official tour but she wanted us to see these paintings. That seems inappropriate for a professional guide to do, but even worse was that she should be modeling respect for the sites we visit and instead was breaking the rules and got us kicked out. Not good. Then, after the tour was done, she said that if anybody needed to go back to the Metro, they could go with her because she would be walking back to Piazza di Spagna, where we started our tour. But as we were on the way, she instead decided to have us take a bus and then get off at a completely different location and take the Metro from there. Again, it seemed very unprofessional of her. The afternoon tour was okay, but I don't know why this particular guide is employed by this company.
Excellent tour! It was well worth the price to have a guide to lead us around this amazing but very large complex. While the tour moved fast, there was time to take pictures, and in a couple of places we even stopped for a few minutes specifically so everybody could get the pictures they wanted. The historical information provided by the guide added tremendously to the experience and was far better than using an audio guide. This is definitely the way to see the Alhambra.
