Vancouver Small Group Eco Tour

My Review: We had a fantastic day. Highly recommended. There had been a little hiccup over a change of booking date but our guide happily accommodated us on a Monday which is his day off and we had a private tour for 2. Even if we had travelled in a full coach I would recommend this tour. It is designed to be flexible enough to cater for the interests of the travellers. We went to places out of the way of the crowds. We walked across Lynn Canyon peacefully instead of Capilano Bridge. our guide reall knew about Vancouver. He has a solid interest in eco tourism without ramming it down your throat. As it came fine in the late afternoon he concluded the tour at the bottom of Grouse Mt to see the sunset . He later sent a SMS to see if we needed transport afterwards but by that time we were travelling on the Seabus. We did appreciate the thought..

Victoria by Seaplane and Ferry from Vancouver

My Review: The seaplane ride was fantastic. My husband was invited to sit in the co pilots seat which thrilled him. We had plenty of time to take a tour to Butchart Gardens (also booked through Viator) , had high tea at the Empress Hotel (very expensive but wonderful). a quick look in the Parliament buildings and an hour in the BC Museum. The trip home was a long coach trip to the north of the island then 90 minutes on a ferry and another 45 minutes back to downtown Vancouver. A very long but enjoyable day.

Victoria City Sightseeing Tour and Butchart Gardens from Victoria

My Review: If you are on a short time frame as we were this was an efficient way of getting to Butchart Gardens. If you have more time then there are much cheaper ways to get there and then you are not restricted by the amount of time you can spend at the gardens.

My Review: The main problem with this tour was the design of the bus. It was a mini bus which was full. We did see elk a number of times but unless you were sitting on the close side of the bus, you had a poor view and very difficult to take photos. There were no photo stops when we did go past some scenic lookouts.

Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour

My Review: The tour was described as a safe way of seeing the red light district. We felt far from safe and had no confidence in our small female guide to be able to handle any unpleasant situations. We felt that a large group walking through the narrow alleys gawking at the girls was demeaning to those girls.

My Review: Full on tour which covered all the tourist aspects of traditional Holland. An extra hour would have made the whole experience more leisurely. The walk through Volendam was extremely rushed. The tour guide was rushing back to take another tour group to another location.

My Review: The canal bus was too slow to be able to use to get around to attractions quickly, so we did not make full use of it. Great to skip the queue at the Van Gogh Museum. A must do visit.

Paris City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

My Review: The whole circuit is very long - over 2 hours, which is great way to sit and see Paris as an introduction, but it does not work as a hop on hop off bus. Works much better in other cities where the circuit is shorter.

My Review: Main advantage was not having to queue for tickets. Hard Rock Cafe was not a convenient place to pick up the pass. You need to really be organized as far as time is concerned to get the value out of the card. The free gift from the perfumery was just a sachet wipe of perfume. We could not find the wine tasting venue and abandoned that attempt.
