"You get what you pay for" certainly comes to mind when rating this tour. In a nutshell, it was amazing! Our wonderful, knowledgable, friendly, Roman native guide, Rossana, was fantastic. As described, this tour, with a small group, takes you to all levels, including underground chambers and upper tier. Most other tourists were left wondering why they couldn't follow us. It also included a very comprehensive tour of The Forum. An absolute must while in Rome. Thanks again Viator.
We have done this tour before about 5 years ago, so we have a comparison. Firstly it was difficult to find the meeting place near St. Peter's Square, whereas last time we met at the bus depot and were driven to the Basilica. Upon arrival we were told that after passing thru security the guide and a couple of volunteer fellow tourists would go ahead and find good seats. The guide then said that there were plenty so there was no need for to rush. Although the seats were reasonable, with her previous knowledge, she could have easily placed us a good deal closer to the barricades where Pope Francesco would pass by. We had no chance at all to see him. Apart from skipping the line, this tour was disappointing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon tour from Paris to Giverny. Unfortunately, although it was early April, the weather was cool and Spring had not arrived, so we didn't see the gardens to their advantage. The highlight for me was the Japanese bridge, so prominent in Monet's paintings. I would certainly recommend this tour .
