Viator's Refer a Friend Terms & Conditions
These Terms explain how you may earn and redeem referral credits ("Referral Credits") on the Viator website at www.viator.com (the "Viator Site") through Viator's Refer-a-Friend program. By participating in the Refer-a-Friend program and earning and spending Referral Credits, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to be bound by these terms, as well as the Terms and Conditions for the Viator Site.
Referral Credits Currency
Before referring friends or redeeming credits, you will set a referral currency preference. All earned and redeemable credits will be in this currency and cannot be changed once set. We reserve the right to regularly update the Referral Credits amounts.
- Who can send invitations?
- Any user with an active account in good standing on the Viator Site can send invitations to friends. You do not need to have ever made a booking or purchase on the Viator Site.
- Who can receive invitations?
The person receiving an invitation is your "Friend." A Friend who is eligible to earn you a Referral Credit or a New Member Credit is an individual who does not already have a Viator account and who has not previously made a purchase or booking on the Viator Site ("Eligible Friend").
- Is there a limit to the number of Friends I can invite?
You are limited to inviting up to 50 Friends on the Viator Site every 30 days.
Please note that this offer is limited to one account and email address per Friend. You may send only one invitation per Friend. Friends you refer who register using multiple accounts or email addresses will be subject to account termination and the Referral Credit issued to you and the New Member Credit issued to your Friend will be cancelled.
Receiving and Redeeming Referral and New Member Credits
As soon as one of your Eligible Friends books and then successfully completes a qualifying trip or tour, you will earn a Referral Credit. Referral Credits will be available for redemption at checkout of your next transactions. Referral Credits expire three years from the date on which they are awarded. Referral and New Member Credits will be available to apply to your purchases at checkout, in the order in which they expire.
Referral Credits and New Member Credit cannot be redeemed for gift cards.
Referral Credits will accrue with every Eligible Friend you refer who makes a qualifying reservation. You can track your Referral Credits by visiting the Refer-A-Friend page or Refer-A-Friend section in My Account on the Viator Site.
A New Member Credit of $10 (or corresponding value as determined by Viator in your currency, if we support it) will be applied to an Eligible Friend’s Viator Account upon registration. Such credit expires thirty (30) days from registration.
Qualifying Trip/ Tour
A qualifying reservation must be booked and paid for on the Viator Site and via the Viator platform, and completed by the Eligible Friend, in order for you to receive or redeem Referral Credits. A reservation by your Eligible Friend that is subsequently canceled or refunded, does not qualify for Referral Credits.
Reservation Cancellations or Refunds
All refunds will be returned to the original form of payment, including New Member Credit and Referral Credit as applicable. The New Member Credit or Referral Credit will be restored to their original expiration dates.
If your Friend was also referred by another user, you will receive the Referral Credit after a qualifying trip if your referral link is clicked or accessed by your Friend immediately preceding his or her account registration. If your Friend uses another person’s referral link during account registration, you will not receive the Referral Credit.
If You’ve Been Invited To Join Viator Via a Referral
Sign up for a Viator Account by clicking on a valid referral link from an existing Viator user. If you are not previously registered as a Viator user, have not subscribed to Viator marketing emails, and/or have not previously made a purchase or booking on the Viator site, you will receive a New Member Credit. Your New Member Credit will be available for redemption immediately following registration. The New Member Credit must be used within 30 days of registration.
Prohibitions and Cancellation
Credits (whether Referral Credits or New Member Credits) are issued to a single Viator account at our discretion and cannot be transferred, bartered or sold to another user or another account. Credits are loyalty or promotional offers and are not a payment instrument; they are issued without any exchange of money or value from you and you have no vested property right or interest in Credits. Credits have no cash value by themselves; they can only be used with purchase of qualifying trips or tours on the Viator Site.
We reserve the right to suspend your account and remove Referral Credits should we notice any activity we determine, in our sole discretion, to be false, misleading, or fraudulent, an abuse of the Refer-a-Friend program, or in violation of these Terms or the Viator Site terms and conditions.
Limited Time Only/ Changes to Program Terms
The Viator Refer-a-Friend program is for a limited time only. We reserve the right in our sole discretion at any time and without prior notice to modify or change the terms applicable to the issuance and use of Referral or New Member Credits, including rules for earning and redeeming Credits and the applicable expiration period. We further reserve the right to terminate, withdraw or suspend this incentive program (in whole or in part) at any time, in our sole discretion, including without limitation, if we believe that it is impractical to administer the program in compliance with applicable law.
We will notify users of any such changes by posting an updated version of these terms on the Viator Site and changing the “Last Updated” date below. It is your responsibility to check these terms regularly to identify any changes. By continuing to participate in the Refer-a-Friend program, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by such revised terms.
