Fabulous e is the only way I can describe this trip, to be snuggled by a baby elephant is indescribable !! This is definitely a trip worth going on, we would have liked to ave done the whole day trip but my husband has had major surgery, so we thought tis was second best.... It wasn't, it was an amazing experience.
Doing what: Chiang Mai Elephants at Work Tour
Fantastic day trip if you are short on time and can't do a full safari. Saw all the Big 5 and were even treated to "play time" with the elephants. Served bubbly on arrival, followed by a full buffet breakfast, 3 hour drive around the reserve with more bubbly halfway and then lunch - an unexpected bonus. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Well worth the early start!!!!!
It was a lovely, peaceful trip with beautiful scenrey, We saw lots of birds, monkeys, a sloth and sleeping bats! Our guide was pleasant, well informed and very helpful. The driver was equally friendly and helpful. All is all, a trip we will remember!
Doing what: Peñas Blancas Safari Boat Tour in Arenal
Fabulous ! We loved this. Superb. Our driver and guide were wonderful !
Weather was perfect, very few bugs
Was a short tour. The elephant show was short but nice, ride the elephant after the show. Saw a crocodile show and got my picture with tigers. Overall was a decent tour.
Having been to the Elephant Orphanage by coach just 12mths prior to this trip, I thought it would be a great experience to do the 'Private Tour' with my family this time around.
In all honesty, the Coach trip is no different to the 'Private Tour' - just costs you more for no more extra's. Would not do it again, just as easy and chaper to go by coach. There is nothing 'Private' about the tour - you DO NOT go 'behind the scenes' and 'meet/feed' ANY elephants, and you pay extra to a 'guide' should you wish to swim (if the water level allow). The 'guide' simply walks alongside you - he does nothing else, he doesn't give you any extra information, he does not take you anywhere different to the general visitors....so SAVE YOUR MONEY.
The transport is a rundown old minivan - so seriously nothing extra special at all for the extra $$$$$
Seeing the elephants was great, but the Deer Land on the way there was ridiculous: Animals in unclaen and far too small cages.
Totally recommend this tour! The elephants were so well taken care of and seemed happy and healthy. It was a great experience to get to feed them fruit as a Thank You for taking us for a ride. I loved how they also showed us a variety of cultural elements from rice, tea, coconut, to the actual rides.

Doing what: Khao Sok Full Day Jungle Safari from Phuket
A great tour, very professionally delivered. There is some dull stuff involved (i.e. how rice is grown), but the tour is so well paced that you don't get bogged down in it.
Doing what: Phuket Half-Day Safari Tour
totally such an amazing tour that we both have. entertaining and enjoyable and somehow we manage to face our fears in terms of the crocodile show. Such a great experience and its nice to be in Thailand. Just like home anyway.
This was a long day, but I enjoyed this tour. I was on the tour with 2 other people that I met on the previous day's tour. The three of us got along well on the previous day's tour. I was already scheduled to take this tour, the other two people, who were traveling together, were interested in doing this tour, so we requested to do this tour as a private group. You trek on land for about an hour and then if you get to ride in the Ping River, that's another 30-45 minutes of riding. If the river waters aren't high enough, you will not be able to ride through the Ping River. Fortunately we were able to ride through the river. This tour consists of a short elephant show (where the elephants do tricks, obey commands, etc.). One elephant even paints a picture. A pretty decent looking pic at that. At this camp, they seem to treat the animals kindly. Prior to booking this tour, I had read that some camps were not so humane. I did not notice any abuse while I was at this camp. After the elephant ride, there was lunch at a nice secluded restaurant not terribly far from where the elephant camp was. River Rafting is also part of this tour, which you are on the river for at least 45 minutes. Visiting the Hilltribe people is also a part of the tour. This visit consists of looking at handmade items by the people and you possibly buying something. You don't have to buy anything though. We had some extra time, so we did a side trip to the Tiger Kingdom. Nong was the tour guide. Very good guide, accommodating, and he spoke English well.
