What You Can Expect

Abu Dhabi Sightseeing Tour: Gold Souk, Sheik Zayed Mosque and Heritage Village

See the best of Abu Dhabi!

Meet your guide in central Abu Dhabi to begin your 4.5-hour tour. Hop inside your air-conditioned coach or minivan and settle into your comfortable seat for your tour of three highlights of the city, sometimes dubbed the Arabian Jewel for its glittering buildings and landmarks.

Hear stories from your guide about Abu Dhabi’s incredible transformation from a humble fishing port of the pre-oil boom days of the 1950s to a futuristic metropolis in just a few decades.

Stop first at one of Abu Dhabi’s star turns: the gleaming Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan Mosque, or Grand Mosque as it’s otherwise known. Head inside with your guide to learn about the awe-inspiring marble building and discover how it can hold some 40,000 worshippers, making it one of the world’s biggest mosques.

Drive on to the Zayed Centre, a museum dedicated to the late Sheikh Zayed – the man considered the founding father of the UAE, and its first president. Inspect the interesting collections that provide insight into Zayed’s life, including some of his beloved cars and items he received as gifts, such as stuffed lions and cheetahs.

After learning about the sheikh, continue to Abu Dhabi Heritage Village, an outdoor museum that showcases life in the city before oil changed its fortunes.

Stroll through the recreated souks, see artisans at work producing traditional handicrafts, and visit the replica tented Bedouin camp to learn about the semi-nomadic loves of these tribal peoples.

Lastly, admire the views of the soft sands and Arabian Gulf as you drive along the Corniche road. Your tour then finishes at the original starting point.

It was a wonderful day tour with the guide. I learned so much about the city and culture from her because she was very knowledgeable. I had a lot of questions and she willingly explained to me and others to share. Thank you very much!

We were picked up from our Hotel in Abu Dhabi by Taxi and transfered to the Mosque, and again transfered from Ferrari race track. The tour guide was great and we had an informative time

Yes, I accept that this was a 'highlights' tour, but there were a couple of things that could be left out to enable the group to spend more time at the Sheik Zayed Mosque. The guide was good, but dual language tours tend to reduce interest when your language is not being spoken. Overall, a good tour, but room for improvement.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better July 2015

Certainly wasn't all that interesting and seemed a bit disjointed and disorganised. Would be helpful if there was information prior to the tour about approved attire for the Mosque. Wish we had left this one off the itinerary

1 star rating: I do not recommend this August 2014

No time given at the mosque. I went back to the mosque on my own. Again only 45 minutes given to have lunch and shop. Not impressed with this tour. It would be cheaper to catch a taxi to the destinations and take your time doing things.
