What You Can Expect

Murray River Riverboat Tour including Lunch from Adelaide

Murray River Jetty

Your day trip begins as you depart Adelaide by coach for the 1.5-hour journey through the Adelaide Hills and Mallee outback to Mannum, a heritage town on the Murray River. Hear about the history of Mannum, known for launching the Murray River's first paddle steamer in 1852.

Upon arrival in town, hop aboard the riverboat for your 2-hour cruise, which provides just a glimpse of Australia’s longest river, but it’s some of the best scenery, from willow trees to cliffs to the Red River Gums. Watch for birds like pelicans and cockatoos, and relax over morning tea and lunch.

When your cruise returns to Mannum, you have free time to walk around independently, perhaps checking out a viewpoint that provides photo ops of town and the river. Then return to your coach for the drive to the Gumeracha Toy Factory, where you can see the world’s largest rocking horse, according to the factory, and refuel with a beverage or bite to eat, if you wish (own expense). Finally, pass by the Chain of Ponds to Tea Tree Gully on your way back to Adelaide, where your day trip ends.
